The first PDA from Dell since yesterday on sale in Europe. The Axim X5 Pocket PC is controlled via the Dutch website sold.

Expectations are high, because the PDAs Dell captured in the United States, a considerable share of the PDA market. According to Michael Dell has since November last year, even 10 percent of the total number of PDAs sold in the U.S., a copy of Dell. The attractive price, Dell's traditional strength, there is probably to blame. Compared with other Pocket PC handhelds ruled the Axim X5 is indeed a lot cheaper.

The Axim X5 is available from 299 euros (including VAT) and consists of a Basic' model and a Advanced' model, both equipped with the Pocket PC 2002 software from Microsoft. The base model is powered by an Intel X-Scale 300MHz processor to go, and includes 32MB SDRAM and 32MB Memory Intel StrataFlash ROM memory. In the 'Advanced' version of the Axim X5 is a 400MHz processor, 64MB SDRAM and 48MB ROM memory storage.

Dell hopes to hand computertjes not to sell only to consumers but to businesses of all sizes and public sector.
